In terms of local government legislation, the Member of the Mayoral Committee for Economic Development (as political head of the sector within which JPC is located) is held accountable by the Council for programme performance and thus is tasked with overseeing the implementation of the JPC business plan and scorecard.
In terms of the Companies’ Act the Board of Directors of the JPC is also held accountable by the shareholder (represented by the Executive Mayor) for programme performance.
The JPC uses the scorecard approach to performance management in line with the group performance management framework of the City of Johannesburg.
