The JPC uses the scorecard approach to performance management in line with the group performance management framework of the City of Johannesburg.
Oversight and Performance Management
In accordance with local government legislation, the Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Economic Development—as the political head of the sector in which JPC operates—is accountable to the City Council for programme performance. The MMC is responsible for overseeing the implementation of JPC’s business plan and performance scorecard.
In line with the Companies Act, JPC’s Board of Directors is accountable to the shareholder, represented by the Executive Mayor, for delivering on the company’s strategic and operational objectives.
