Introduction

This Manual has been compiled for the City of Joburg Property Company in accordance with Section 14 of the Act. The purpose of the Act is to give effect to the public’s right to access information held by public and private bodies, as provided in Section 32 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, Act No. 108 of 1996 (as amended) (“the Constitution”), which states:

​“32 (1) Everyone has the right of access to—

(a) any information held by the state; and

(b) any information held by another person that is required for the exercise or protection of any rights.”
